Cleaner and cleaning method
Many new homeowners spend a lot for carpets on their floors. This is not surprising because carpets not only protect the floor but add beauty and value to a home. Carpets can be considered a major investment since it costs a lot to install quality carpets and they usually lasts for a long time. However, if you don’t care for your carpets, they will not only look ugly after a time but will also fail to protect your floor and thus ruin an important part of your house, and force you to spend more just to put everything right again. Thus it is important to know how to keep your carpets clean so they last longer and continue to beautify your home. It is also essential that you know what type of materials your carpet is made of as this will dictate the kind of cleaner and cleaning method you will have to do.
Carpets are made of thick fabrics manufactured usually from woven wool originally or other natural or synthetic fibers. They are used as floor covering which protects the floor. The type of carpet you select for a particular room in your house can define its character. A smooth, even-surfaced carpet is best for a formal or semi-formal room. Examples are velvet plush, tapestry weaves or oriental rugs. If you want an informal or a rustic look in a room, you should get carpets with uneven surface. You should also consider the traffic that will pass through the carpeted area when selecting the kind of carpet. The kind of carpet for heavy traffic areas should have low, densely packed pile. Such a carpet is very durable and strong against wear.
Cleaning carpets starts with identifying which material it is made of. You cannot clean wool carpets with bleach or any product that works with heat or machine that employs heat. Knowing what type of carpet it is will let you decide which type of cleaning product to use. Carpet cleaning is more than just washing the carpet with water and then drying it again. You have to use products that break down dirt and solid particles, kill bacteria and germs, and still preserve its original beautiful condition.
