General cleaning

The maintenance and cleanliness of an apartment is critical to the beauty of its architectural features. Do you dream of having a sparkling apartment, where everything is always arranged perfectly, but know you don’t have the time to achieve it? Nowadays, there is too little time to dedicate to your home. There are a variety of companies which offer apartment cleaning services in London and with their help you can give a new and impressive look to your home. New homeowners, however, are often keen to clean for themselves taking pride in their new home so here ACT Home, a London apartment cleaning company, provides some expert tips. 1. When comes to cleaning your home there’s no need to buy the large array of different cleaning chemicals that are on the market. Washing up liquid diluted in water and used with a microfibre cloth will clean all the surfaces in your home. To buff windows, chrome etc just follow this with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. 2. It’s good practice to use colour-coded cloths for bathrooms (Red), kitchen (blue) and general cleaning (green or yellow). This is so you don’t end up accidently wiping your kitchen surfaces with a cloth used to clean the bathroom! 3. Kitchen cupboards rarely get that dirty inside, so they only need to be wiped once in a while. But the cutlery drawer / tray is the exception here. They always collect dirt and crumbs. Lift out all the cutlery from each section of the drawer, clean and wipe out all the debris, then return the knives and forks and they will be left clean and hygienic. 4. Whenever you spill something on your carpet, firstly dab out the liquid. Do not scrub! Then drench the area in luke warm water only - NO CHEMICALS - and again dab out the stain, repeat if necessary until the stain is removed. If, after the carpet has dried, the stain is still visible, it is at this point you can find the correct carpet cleaning chemical for that stain or better still get a professional in to clean it for you. The advantage is that you will not have colour-fast the stain and the carpet cleaner will not be working against a carpet loaded with chemicals. 5. Cleaning your cleaning equipment. Remember that in order to get good results from your cleaning equipment it needs to be clean itself and well maintained. Such tasks as regularly emptying your vacuum cleaner, washing cloth dusters and cleaning cloths or replacing disposable cloths frequently, beating feather dusters outside to remove the accumulation of dust and thoroughly washing such items as toilet brushes after use can make a huge difference to the results you achieve.
